Shidpa village residents, Lakshman Oraon and his wife Sita Devi carry the body of his younger brother Rajendra Oraon from Sadar hospital in Chatra district of Jharkhand as Rajendra’s wife Sunita Devi follows, wailing. Rajendra’s infant son is tied to Sita’s back.Humanity immersed in deep tears when you lost your loved one before your eyes because your chosen Govt get failed to provide basic healthcare to most bottom of the society.

Lakshman Oraon from Shidpa village had brought his brother Rajendra to the district’s Sadar hospital in the morning. Rajendra suffered a snake-bite. Lakshman looked for hearse but he was unable to pay for it, then he carried his brother’s body on foot with the help of his wife followed by sister-in-law in Jharkhand’s Chatra district on Sunday.

When he reached hospital, doctors have attended his brother and asked him to buy the necessary medicines from outside. He failed to brought the prescribed medicine and within half an hour after being brought, his brother was declared dead. Then hospital informed the incident to local police and after post mortem, the body was handed over to the family. Hospital did not arrange for transporting it to Oraons’ village, Shidpa, 40 km from the hospital.

When the family insisted on being provided an ambulance, they were allegedly importuned and asked to pay Rs 4,000. He was unable to shell out the amount, then Lakshman decided to carry the body. He alongwith his wife Sita Devi, who had lifted the body while straped Rajendra’s infant son to her back, and started off to the market.

As they could hardly managed to move a bit, when locals intervened and informed the civil administration officials who later arranged for an ambulance.

Jharkhand CM ordered a probe :

Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das had ordered immediate suspension of the deputy superintendent of Sadar hospital, Dr Krishna Kumar, and hospital manager, Dr Nishant Kumar and ordered a probe into the non-availability of medicines.

UP Govt launched Cow Ambulance :

As reported, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya recently launched Cow ambulance service that would cater to cows and would rescue ill or injured cows and transport them to ‘gau shalas’ for treatment.
